Drivetrain

One of the major similarities between the sedans is the drivetrain. They are both powered by an inline 4-cylinder. This engine comes in many different forms though.

In the base configuration, it is turbocharged to produce 250 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque. In the next step up it is both turbocharged and supercharged, which produces 316 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Finally, you can add an electric motor to the Volvo S60 or Volvo S90 T8 Inscription trims and it will make 400 horsepower and 472 lb-ft of torque.

Volvo S60 & Volvo S90 Trims

The Volvo S60 is a midsize luxury sedan while the S90 is a full-size luxury sedan. The S90 is the flagship sedan of the Volvo lineup and when you have it with the Inscription package you can really see why. The two vehicles have the same names for their trims, which makes it easy to make sure you are getting the exact features you want no matter what sedan you are looking at in the Volvo lineup.

The first trim level is the Momentum. The S90 can get this in AWD but the S60 is stuck with just front-wheel drive if you select the Momentum trim. This trim comes with all of the necessities of a luxury sedan that you can enjoy as you drive around Bee Cave and Lakeway

Next up we have the R-Design. This trim makes the S60 and the S90 much sportier. there are blacked-out accents and much darker interior materials are used. Most of the trim is metal instead of wood.

Finally, we have the Inscription trim. This trim gives you pretty much every option and makes the interior of both vehicles as lavish as possible. As we mentioned above, within the Inscription trim, drivers can choose to buy an eAWD Plug-in Hybrid sedan. The difference between the T6 Inscription and the T8 Inscription is simply the swap of the turbocharged/supercharged engine to the electric motor.

If you want to experience any of these trims or sedans first had, you should visit Volvo Cars of Austin. Our staff will be able to help you secure financing, value your trade and get you on the roads of Pflugerville and San Marcos in a new Volvo sedan.
